HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The District supports healthcare education and training for the benefit of future generations. Each year, a portion of the District’s grants and sponsorships overall budget is allocated to local post-secondary students and trainees, and graduating high school seniors pursuing healthcare careers.

CHARITABLE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

The Grossmont Healthcare District has awarded more than $36M in grants, sponsorships, and scholarships since the Community Grants Program began in 1996. Those public monies have benefited community-based service providers, educational institutions, and the Grossmont Hospital (operated by Sharp HealthCare). The sole source of funding the District receives is through property tax dollars from district residents in East San Diego County. As such, District grants and sponsorships are a reinvestment of those tax dollars back into the community.

The FY25-26 community grants application is now closed, and will reopen on July 1, 2026. However, requests for District sponsorship of fundraising and one-time programs or events may be submitted year-round through the Submittable portal, until such time that the annual budget has been committed.

The FY25-26 Grants and Sponsorships Policy document provides a detailed overview of organization and program requirements, funding priorities, the application process, the scoring and review process, and post-award procedures. Once logged into Submittable, you may review the application in its entirety before beginning the application process. The program will automatically save your work, so that you may revisit a draft in progress at any time. Once submitted, you will be able to check back on the status of your application as it moves through the process of staff review, committee recommendation, and Board vote.

The Grossmont Healthcare District will consider requests to sponsor charitable events that benefit nonprofit organizations providing health-related services within district boundaries.

Sponsorship requests require the completion of an application for Board review and consideration, and may be made simultaneously or separately from a grant application. Please review the Grossmont Healthcare District's FY25-26 Community Grants & Sponsorships Policy in its entirety before submitting your request.

You will be able to scroll through the application in its entirety before you begin completing the application, so please review in advance, for familiarity with the requirements. Drafts of your submission will be automatically saved until you provide a digital signature and click "Submit," so you may return to your application in progress at any time.

Sponsorship requests may be submitted at any time during the fiscal year, but requests will only be considered by the Board of Directors provided budgeted funds remain available.  An explanation of the Board's grants review schedule is available in Appendix B (page 12) of the policy; sponsorship requests follow the same review schedule.
