The Grossmont Healthcare District has awarded more than $71 million in grants, sponsorships, and scholarships since the Community Grants Program began in 1996. Those public monies have benefited community-based service providers, educational institutions, and the Grossmont Hospital (operated by Sharp HealthCare). The sole source of funding the District receives is through property tax dollars from district residents in East San Diego County. As such, District grants and sponsorships are a reinvestment of those tax dollars back into the community.
The FY26-27 Grants and Sponsorships Policy document provides a detailed overview of organization and program requirements, funding priorities, the application process, the review process, and post-award procedures. Once logged into Submittable, you may review each application in its entirety before beginning the application process. Once submitted, you will be able to check back on the status of your application as it moves through the process of staff review, committee recommendation, and Board vote. It is our anticipation that all grant funding decisions will be announced in November of 2026. Sponsorship requests may be submitted throughout the fiscal year, until such time that this year's $3.25 million budget has been committed.
